EASILY in my top five favourite podcasts. Amazingly done!
Im usually a very picky person when it comes to podcasts, specifically horror and sci-fi, but this one ticks ALL the boxes.
Archive 81 has a fleshed out universe with characters that are flawed but loveable, great voice acting and sound design, with an interesting almost arg feel to it.
I honestly have no idea what people are talking about when they say they hated the 2nd season, if anything the second season was even better than the first as it allowed the characters to develop and interact more with each other, and this is continued in the 3rd season with an even bigger increase in world building!
I felt like that iasip pepe silvia meme with this one whenever a character or event would be mentioned from a previous tape, and the satisfaction I got from finally being able to connect new information to past lore was immense!!
I highly recommend everyone listen to this one, Archive 81 is criminally underrated.
So incredibly bad…
I really like listening to podcasts. And despite their MANY flaws I really enjoyed the Terry Miles ones like The Black Tapes, Rabbits and even Tanis. Despite the arguable over-acting and repetitiveness, at least the sound design, character development and production were really great. When reviewers of those recommended Archive 81, I had high hopes. But this has honestly been one of the dumbest podcasts I’ve listened to… several hours I will never get back. No character or even real story development, confusing, bad acting, annoying appeals for funding via patreon. Just bad.
First Season was great, second season not so good
First season was great. Second season started okay, but Cynthia is annoying AF!!!! Can not stand her voice and her dialogue is so “look at me I’m so cool because I swear every second word!”
Not interesting and annoying!!!
Could’ve been much better.
