Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

In this week’s Flightless Bird, David Farrier throws himself back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth during the 1500s. Why? Because Americans love Renaissance Fairs. A few months later her and her husband Ron put on a bigger one - hosting about 8000 people. It kept growing - and in 1966 the official “Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California” was launched. Farrier decides to head along to that very fair see what all the fuss is about.

Synced: Ross’s Hot Dogs - Liz is Nuts

This is my first review of any podcast, so please know that this means something.

I enjoy Armchair Expert, Flightless Bird, and even listened to Monica’s last show before Synced - but having accidentally listened to just part of the episode mentioned in the title and Liz’s opinion on men and the rates of sexual assault towards men… at least thank goodness for Monica stepping in and questioning it but good god I hope that’s fact checked.

1 in 4 men do not assault women, and that fact should have been checked when the comment was made. Such a disservice towards men. I want to be clear in saying that sexual assault towards women from men is an issue, but Liz was spewing absolute bogus stats.

Love it! Just one thing...

When you give your warnings (thank you!) it would be great if you could just give the name of the guest whose story has the trigger. That way we can just skip that one vs the whole show. Please and thank you!

Love love love

Only critique is Dax interrupts the guests mid sentence.
