Must listen for Alkaline a Trio fans past and present.
I discovered this podcast because of the Lawrence arms podcast. I used to be a massive Alkaline Trio fan, this podcast has reminded me how great they are. I didn’t think it was possible to spend a whole episode dissecting a song but David and Tim pull it off. The hosts also have great chemistry, and it’s nice to hear the witty banter as opposed to hearing “um um um” like a lot of other podcasts.
If you are or ever have been a fan of Alkaline Trio, this is a must listen. If you need to be convinced find one of your most favourite songs and hear them tear it apart/praise it.
I had a bad time
UPDATE 4: I’m so glad this is over. Slapdash and self-congratulatory to the end.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE’S UPDATE: I truly can’t believe David Anthony has not yet murdered Tim Crisp.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: It’s a podcast so inept and unmemorable even the hosts can’t remember what songs they’ve already done.
UPDATE: All of the below still applies, but now after 66 episodes one of the hosts can’t even figure out how to speak audibly into a microphone. I’m still listening but It’s not getting better!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Almost 20 episodes deep, and I have to admit to being disappointed with this podcast. I am about as invested in this band as David is, but a lot of the criticisms he and Tim have with some of these songs just don’t resonate with me. Predictably (considering one of them has never bothered to listen to half their discography [not as good a hook for a podcast as they think it is]), they almost unanimously write off everything post-‘Crimson’ as being “lazy,” and simultaneously criticize the band for never trying anything different while also lambasting them whenever they do on those latter records. But I guess if your criticism is going to be just as lazy that’s where you end up.
Truely an amaZing podcast
I enjoy every episode to this date, great job fellas. Keep it up
