    199. LESSON PLAN RESCUE: NOT ENOUGH BOOKS

    199. LESSON PLAN RESCUE: NOT ENOUGH BOOKS

What do you do when you aren’t provided enough copies of books for every student? Unfortunately, this is a real problem that ELA teachers are facing. We know how incredibly frustrating and problematic this is for both teachers and students!

You want students to be engaged with the book. You know how important it is for students to read at home and dedicate class time to instruction. But access to limited materials is not allowing that to happen.

Today we’re back with a lesson plan rescue! We’re sharing creative and productive ideas to overcome this issue so you can still accomplish what you need to in your classes. We’ll look at how providing multiple ways of reading the book, decentering the novel, and layering units on top of each other can help you work around the lack of book copies.

Love!

As a non-English trained teacher this dynamic duo changed the way I thought about teaching ELA. The perfect balance of pedagogical discussion, expert interviews, and brilliant easy to implement strategies. This is a must listen to!

A Canadian teacher ,

Simply excellent

This podcast really helped me in my first year of teaching high school. Thanks to these two educators, everything in my curriculum made sense. I was able to set myself goals and organize my long term planning the way I wanted. Students are engaged and see the connection between the novels and real life. I highly recommend this podcast to all Language teachers.
