Why is home care in crisis?
We expose a broken home care system that's failing families and workers. Our investigation reveals a system with few checks and balances and secrecy around for-profit companies' use of public funds. Plus, we travel to Denmark with geriatric physician Dr. Samir Sinha to show Canadians a better, more dignified and more affordable way to provide care at home.
Guest interviews:
Erica Johnson: Senior reporter for CBC’s Go Public, former co-host of CBC Marketplace
Dr. Samir Sinha: Leading geriatrician at Sinai Health who consults on health policy -
Hey hospitals, how long do we have to wait?
Long wait times can cause undue pain and suffering. We take a hard look at why Canadians can't get the surgery they need. Follow along as a teenage boy waits nearly two years to get his back fixed, his condition becoming more severe with each month he waits. It's a crisis that has some doctors pushing for private care, while others urge Canadians to keep their faith in the public system. We investigate possible solutions.

Heat pumps for heating and cooling
Very informative they cover all the angles. Would like to see a review on the hype on Heat pumps. Are they having any issues after installation. Why is Endbrige giving grants to a product that uses less gas. This is very confusing. Is there really as much of a savings as they say. Is the cost worth it and these grants who is really paying for it.
Not like the show
I really like Marketplace on TV, but the podcast is a disappointment. It’s more like interviews with the journalist who covered the story, than the story itself. Far less compelling and kind of meh for me.
Great CBC podcast!!!
Marketplace has always been a great show but now that its a podcast that makes it wven better!!!
CBC has made the right decision in making it a podcast. The moving scam story sure opens up ones eyes to scams out there.
