Welcome to The Soberoso™ Podcast where we invite guests and listeners from around the world to join us in “Sharing Our Passion For Recovery.”
If you are an old timer in recovery, a newcomer, sober curious or a loved one of someone who struggles with alcoholism, addiction or mental health issues this show is for you.
Each Tuesday we bring you a brand new episode where our grateful host Dora either shares what's on her mind or interviews a guest with Q & A’s regarding what life was like before and after finding recovery.
We are real people who have overcome incredible odds to turn our lives around and are passionate about tearing down the stigmas around alcoholism and addiction by speaking our truth and getting heard.
YOU can help us raise awareness around addiction and alcoholism by sharing our episodes on your own personal social media platforms making it easier to talk about these issues that affect millions of families around the world.

Take a trip with us to Australia where we visit with our guest Victoria who grew up where drinking was a big part of culture, and drinking until falling over was acceptable.
Victoria's aim was to grow up and be the party girl and that is exactly what she did. She never looked at drinking as a problem even though she’d often be rolling around on a dirty dance floor at the end of the night smashed.
Victoria overdosed on ecstasy at 22 years old which resulted in her staying in this paranoid state for a whole year. It scared her so bad that  she stopped drinking and everything for a year and got help. However, this wasn’t her rock bottom. Her aim during that year of abstinence was to be able to drink normally again in the pub.
Victoria shares her story of the “millennium stump” when she blew off one of her fingers on New Years Eve in Thailand while lighting fireworks in a black out. She also tells us a few stories and how these drunken experiences became a part of her personality.
Things changed when she settled down in a real relationship and wanted to have children. When she did go out her binge drinking style changed and the hangovers and anxiety were so intense.
Sober now 1,000 days she shares her stories while drinking and drugging and in sobriety.
Victoria still likes the same music and loves reggae, Ska and house music and a good dance party at home with the kids.
Victoria is the Author of  A Thousand Wasted Sundays and writes a blog. You can find out more on Victoria here @drunkmummysobermummy.com
