EP 19 From Surviving to Thriving in Motherhood with Unyime Oguta The Power in Motion Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

Excerpt:
If you’ve been tuning in for a while, you’ll know that I’m a mom of 4 amazing humans and though I work really hard in my business, I consider parenting to be my most important job and it’s certainly the job that comes with the greatest challenges, joys, struggles, and rewards.  I love being a mom and learning and growing alongside my kids.  Every day they inspire me and make me proud and they make me want to be a better person.
Now that said, motherhood is no joke!  Being a woman is no joke!  I don’t know about you, but I’ve certainly felt pressure over my mothering career to “get it right”.  It seems like there’s always so much to do, and so much pressure to do it well, and not near enough time or resources.  Our guest today has had the same observations.
In this episode, I’m joined by Unyime Oguta who is on a mission to help mums go from surviving to thriving through the chaos of motherhood.
Unyime has a really refreshing outlook on motherhood that will get you thinking about how you can go from surviving to thriving even amongst the chaos.
Whether you’re a mum or a mum at heart, this episode is for you.

What you’ll learn by listening:
How women can simplify nutrition and let go of society’s expectations when it comes to their motherhood. - Why it’s important for mums to prioritize themselves when it comes to food and their bodies?- How mums can confidently build a trust-based feeding relationship with their children, so that they grow up to be confident and competent eaters. That it’s normal for mums to struggle with body image and why it’s so important for mums to do the work to heal their body image and how they can foster a healthy body image in their children.

About our Guest:
Unyime  Oguta is a speaker, Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor and non-diet Nutrition Coach for mums.
She is passionate about helping busy, overwhelmed mums transform their relationship with food so that they can gain food freedom, thrive, and feel empowered to raise children who have a good relationship with food and their bodies.  Unyime is committed to providing compassionate, holistic, evidence-based nutrition care to women and their families worldwide through her virtual nutrition coaching practice and podcast, the Thriving Mum podcast.
When she’s not busy, you’ll find Unyime painting and taking care of her plant babies…or napping, which is one of her favourite things to do 😊
