This podcast used to be “The modern girls (and guys) guide to financial success while still looking cute on a budget of course” and has now changed to teaching millennials and Gen Z how to save, pay off debt and pay themselves first. Who are we? I am Taylor the financial savvy best friend and my co-host is Lyndsay (she calls herself my financial illiterate best friend). Follow along as we laugh our way through podcast episodes while hopefully providing insight into personal finance and the trials and wins we experience while navigating our 20's.

From 9-5 to Entrepreneur ft. Kelsey Fish

From 9-5 to Entrepreneur ft. Kelsey Fish

Episode 13 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast!

We had a very fun, energetic and successful boss lady join us for the episode.

Kelsey left her 9-5 job, about a year ago, that she landed from following the 'path' society tells us to follow. "You get the degree, you get the job, then aren't you supposed to be fulfilled"?

She is now a virtual health and fitness coach along with a mindset mentor.

We dive into some questions about how money played a part in her switching paths, does she budget and the stigma around veering from the norm.

    Does Love Cost A Thing?

    Does Love Cost A Thing?

Welcome to Episode 11 of the Fashion Sense Finance Mess Podcast!

This episode is probably one of my favourites that we have recorded so far. Lynds and I are both in heterosexual relationships so a lot of our experiences are from that perspective.

We dive into money and relationships starting with Valentines Day and how expensive it can be with the expectations society puts on the day and especially the burden put on the guy.

We talk about about first dates and who is expected to pay. How it can be a big financial expense for men especially when the other party is not considering the cost of their date ideas. How we do not consciously think about the other persons financial situation.

We go over some male opinions from our friends in a conversation we had before the podcast. One has always taken on the job of paying for the first couple of dates but likes when the girl at least offers.

Then we jump into the topic of when should you start merging your finances in a relationship and lastly we touch on the topic of prenups.
