Host Tristan Redman is a seasoned journalist who doesn’t believe in ghosts. But weird things happened in the bedroom he lived in as a teenager. When he discovers years later that subsequent occupants of the same house have been visited by the ghost of a faceless woman, he’s curious. Because it just so happens that Tristan’s childhood home is right next door to the house where his wife’s great grandmother, Naomi Dancy, was murdered in 1937 – killed by two gunshots to the face. Could there be a connection between the ghost and the murder? Tristan decides to investigate and soon finds himself going where no son-in-law should go, deep into his wife’s family history, asking questions no one wants answered.

Gracayyy ,

Loved every minute!!

Great story to follow along. So interesting and well told! I’ve listened to the whole series multiple times!!

BISB_Lady ,

Lame and ignores obvious evidence

You think it’s going to be about a ghost in a house then it turns into a murder of the Dancy family’s ancestor. All of the men in the Dancy family are so committed to the idea of propping up the legacy of a man who was proven to be a liar that they excuse any and all of his bad behaviour at the expense of completely erasing the legacy of the woman he married. Such a pathetic display of the patriarchy making excuses for men behaving badly even when it’s laughably transparent.

Matante Sogo ,

Revering Naomi Dancy

Murder mystery and ghost stories aside, has anyone ever thought that maybe the family streak of intellectual accomplishments come from their maternal side? Why not consider Naomi Dancy to be the revered ancestor in the family?! She was a careered doctor and bread winner… in the 1920s!! Come on. That’s pretty extraordinary. Women just got the vote in 1918. She seemed like quite the trailblazer. An amazing woman by all accounts. Why every single one of them continue to cling on to this fabled (and self aggrandizing) image of the great grandfather is frankly irritating.
