Episode 26: Shang-Chi Chat Show w/ Mixed Asian Media Fest
We’re joined by our friends from Mixed Asian Media Fest to talk about, well, you know - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring this podcast’s very first guest, Simu Liu, plus Kollaboration NY alum Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, and a treasure trove of other Asian actors. We dig into how martial arts has impacted Asian stereotypes, minutiae from the Shang-Chi comics and his racist past, the excitement of watching the film for the first time, the depiction of Asian American culture and SF, and a whole lot more. Virtual karaoke is also addressed, whatever that might be!
