First ones and first timers - great idea!
Remember the days where you would talk about the latest show around the proverbial water cooler? You would bond with your friends, argue about the plot developments, defend the actions of a character that resonated with you, and work out mysteries together.
This podcast is exactly that, but without the water cooler.
Old friends to each other, but new to us, are watching Babylon 5 together. Some of them are new to science fiction in general, some have never seen the show, and some have seen it (as they say) far too many times in the 30 years since it first aired.
Each person shares their likes or disdain for certain characters (Emily hilariously dislikes some beloved characters, but has stood her ground admirably and even though I personally disagree with some of her conclusions, she makes many valid points and has noticed details that I never did in 30 years.) The team has collectively uncovered plot points that have escaped me over the years, and that has been very rewarding!
There are three women who are participating, and have been a bright spot in this show as the insights and perspectives they bring have been illuminating, to say the least. Science Fiction historically has leaned towards male audiences, and the deliberate decision to invite these three talented women to participate has added a unique and valuable angle that many other shows miss.
They are nearing the end of the show - currently in the homestretch of Season 4.
I really am looking forward to hearing what these new voices think of Season 5. It’s been a wonderful ride so far, and if you are a fan at all of Babylon 5 you owe it to yourself to check out this insightful (and delightfully crass at times) podcast.

Grey 17 is currently my favourite podcast! I’ve been watching Babylon 5 along with you guys, and I look forward to a new episode every week! I enjoyed Justin’s reaction video, please make more! I love all of your opinions (the “baby-lons” are my favourite.) Nicole, keep shipping, I’m shipping right along with you! Love you guys, and DO NOT watch the new animated movie yet, because SPOILERS!!
Through Fresh Eyes
I went through hoops to catch the original broadcasts as they moved it around in time of day and week. I am a B5 fan.
Through this podcast I get to see things that I’ve missed and it makes me look through my schedule to find the time to binge watch B5 again!
