48 épisodes

In this new original series from Somethin' Else, Claudia Winkleman and Professor Tanya Byron identify struggles faced by real-life parents and family members by inviting them in and hearing their story, in a one-time unscripted session with a real person. Claudia listens in to the conversation to discover how Tanya begins to unlock the story behind the issue and help find solutions.

With topics ranging from parental estrangement, gender identity, domestic violence, trauma, inheriting mental health issues, family dynamics after cancer and raising a severely disabled daughter, How Did We Get Here? is a passionate, insightful and moving experience with clear outcomes to each episode.

This podcast doesn’t tell people how to raise their children, or reconnect with family members, rather it helps people understand why, as perfectly competent adults, they can’t put into practice what they know they should do.

Each episode passes on useful links and contacts which listeners can find in the programme notes.

This is a Somethin' Else production.

Claudia Winkleman on the joy of imperfection - How to Fail with Elizabeth Day

Claudia Winkleman is a broadcaster who feels like your best friend - whether she's co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing, fronting her Saturday morning BBC Radio 2 show or sending shivers down your spine as the presenter of The Traitors. And now, for our season finale, she joins How to Fail to talk about her hatred of perfect, her distaste for exercise, her introversion and her failure to live in the present. Plus: struggles with sleep, the invaluable lessons her parents' taught her and why Rembrandt (as seen with minus 15 eyesight) might be her forever style icon.

How to Fail is an Elizabeth Day and Sony Music Entertainment Production.

Tasso.. ,

Stellar Podcast !!!

It’s honestly really good. I genuinely felt like I learned something from each ep. BRING IT BACK PLZZZ 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Mamarosa1950 ,

A wonderful and thought provoking podcast

Dr. Tania is wonderful at getting to the route of people’s issues and so often, not the path you thought she would take. I have identified with SO many of her clients, often discovering a similar issue that I have had since childhood (i am now 71) and not even realizing this before! Claudia (although she won’t admit it) is so inciteful, empathetic, compassionate and funny and the banter between them is wonderful - as an ex-pat Brit, I can say this - truly THE best of British programming! Thank you, thank you Tan & Claudia and I can’t wait for Series 3

KathyDahn ,

Awesome Duo

What an amazing Podcast!!! I love getting my Psychologies Magazine as often as I can, I can't subscribe as I live in Canada, and was thrilled to find such an incredible interview and podcast in the March issue. I was so thrilled to listen to all the stories and the openness as well as the empathy of the whole program. Claudia and Tanya are brilliant together and I look forward to more. Thanks so much, have shared with all my close friends ❤️
