How to Set Ourselves Up For Success Prescott Unified Podcast

    • Education

You know that every successful life story starts with a caring teacher. You know the value of an education at a public school rooted in the community. But it’s hard to stay connected to that community feeling during this time of distance learning and overwhelming demands.

This podcast is for you. Each month we’ll make it easier for you to feel connected, informed and involved. Join us to hear from teachers, historians, parents and community members about what makes Prescott Schools more than just classrooms and campuses. Join us to find out how PUSD is overcoming the current challenges and laying the foundation for an even stronger, more hopeful future

This month, Charles Matheus, your host and producer is joined by guest host Kelli Bradstreet, the Director of Instructional Support for Prescott Unified School District. Kelli is committed to creating a collaborative learning environment that empowers others to have a voice in the district’s shared vision, values and goals.  Prior to her position in Administration, she taught high school English for 29 years as well as mentored other teachers as an Instructional Coach for 8 of those years.  Kelli is also a world traveler and a TEDx speaker.

Our guest this week is Jessy Stickel who is the Student Success Coach at Prescott High School. I’ve known and worked with Jessica Stickel for years and I know she is passionate about helping people turn problems into possibilities. Jessica created a Self Care Series for staff this past spring and she will be delivering part 2 of this series this fall.

Jessy also founded Inspired Freedom Coaching where she works with teens, families, and adults to become the best version of themselves.

When she isn’t inspiring change she is staying active with her 3 beautiful boys, Easton (8 months) , Hudson (3), and Avery(5);  I got to meet Easton last week and immediately fell in love with him. Nothing against Hudson and Avery.

On this Episode, Jessy, the always optimistic possibilitarian is here to share with us; the 5 C’s of coping with change and how we can identify our strengths and lean on those in times of uncertainty.

We learn simple, actionable steps like setting up our work space and making time for what energizes us versus what drains us, and making sure we are still connecting in meaningful and fulfilling ways. Jessy and Kelli are funny and smart and have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share helpful lessons you can start using today. This is an episode you’ll want to keep in your rotation!
