NY YOGA + LIFE ™ magazine is New York's only free print and digital magazine celebrating yoga, art, music, wellness and NY lifestyle. NY YOGA + LIFE magazine prints annually, and curates and co-hosts over dozens of yoga and mindfulness events a year with partners that include The Rubin Museum, Kripalu, Omega and many more. NY YOGA + LIFE magazine is a volunteer based publication owned and published by Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Iana Velez.
Iana is also co-producer of SOULFest, a national yoga and wellness festival that celebrates diversity, accessibility and community. SOULFest is the only FREE festival that includes spanish/bilingual yoga in its programming as a tribute to the city's hispanic community and Iana's family.
Iana was born and raised in New York City and has worked internationally as an Art Director for over 20 years in TV, Film and now print. She has also completed her 200 YTT certification, teaches restorative yoga, and has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years. NY YOGA + LIFE magazine celebrates the intersection of her greatest passions: NYC, sharing people’s stories, art and yoga.
Iana was born and raised in NYC, and providing free wellness resources that are accessible to all in her hometown has been something she has been passionate about for many years. She knows first hand the enormous stress that can come from growing up and living in a dense, urban environment and the physical and emotional relief and comfort that wellness practices can provide.
