Conversations to charge your inner creator! Exploring self-mastery and creative power

028 [VIDEO] When you are far from God, draw near

028 [VIDEO] When you are far from God, draw near

I invite Andrew aka AJ Vinci, a Christian artist, to join me in chatting about what it’s like to invite God into the messiness that is our lives. He shares personal experiences and analogies to explain the importance of God in his life and we discuss our love for God and the reasons behind it.

AJ emphasizes the need for genuine relationships with God and the dangers of seeking temporary satisfaction in worldly pleasures. He also discusses the importance of humility and the impact of music in edifying others. He highlights the significance of warning and confronting others in order to lead them away from wickedness and towards God's love and grace.

In this conversation, he also discusses the importance of differentiating warning from confrontation emphasizing that warning is a more calm and loving way of correcting someone's behavior, while confrontation can come across as aggressive and judgmental.

We go on to look into the biblical definition of humility, rather than the secular version, highlighting that humility involves trusting God, obeying His word, and allowing Him to lift you up. Additionally, AJ encourages listeners to embrace the full journey of humbling themselves and experiencing God's elevation.

    Takeaways

Love God because He loves you through your imperfections.

Without God, you will always feel like something is missing.

Seek God in times of imperfection and repentance.

Genuine relationships with God require humility and authenticity.

Temporary satisfaction in worldly pleasures is fleeting and unsatisfying.

Fulfillment and healing can be found in God's plan.

Music can be a powerful tool for edification and spreading God's message.

The wellness industry is BIG business—  tricking many of us into romanticizing Self-care. Self-care isn’t just beauty products and soft life goals so I invited Yemina, a wellness educator who describes self-care as a right and responsibility to yourself and then your community. She describes how coming out of the pandemic forced her to destroy her prior outlook on self-care and start from scratch.

We also touch on practical self-care tips for anger management and communicating your values and boundaries.

Amazing listen!

I love this podcast because in every episode I’ve listened to I’ve learned from either Dom or her guest. To hear the different journeys are encouraging to those trying to find their path and even those that need some motivation to continue. I also love depth in conversations and understanding ones thought process, and I get both those things from this podcast! Can’t wait for further episodes!
