Lovin this podcast

I did a binge listen… I’ve been to Boquete Panama , it’s fascinating hearing about this side of Panama. I never heard about this case of the Dutch girls murdered in Panama . Brilliant story telling !!

Fascinating!

A well told investigation about a tragic story.

Good listen but …

I did not find the theory put forth in episode 6 credible or plausible at all. It seems more like a grieving mother’s attempt to whitewash her son’s gangster lifestyle. It ascribes far too much strategizing and smarts to thugs. My sense is that a lot of local people inserted themselves into this story as a way to feel special, and it just spiralled into myth. This series started strong, and credit where it’s due for the “boots on the ground” investigation, but disappointing weight placed on gossip and hearsay. Sad story full of questions perhaps best addressed with some Occam’s razor.
