Conflicted

I loved the first season, but I’m starting to think the plot won’t be moving forward anytime soon - kind of hard to follow and the best way to describe it is that there’s nothing for me to hold on to.

It’s becoming harder and harder to pay attention.

All that said, the first handful of episodes were wonderful. Thank you so much to the creators!

Came for the gays and stayed for them

I was really here for the queer representation as I go into most podcasts. Other podcasts, specifically the penumbra, have me staying for the stories, and characters though that was not the case for this one. It's an incredibly poetic podcast and some scenes actually take my breath away "This is the woman that will eat my heart" killed me. Also the end of season 5 genuinely made me scream. Though the poetics get tired after a while like the words "of me" are used so often I began using it when I never did before. It's essentially an epic poem.

I did not understand the plot at all. I was just along for the ride really while our girls figured it out. I couldn't make sense of it. I feel like if I actually was interested in the genre and cared about more than the gay characters I could have. But I didn't so I just nodded my head anytime they introduced a plot line that I felt like I was supposed to understand but just didn't.

Now for the representation. F*ing A, really awesome having gay main characters, having queerness be central to the plot. Though their relationship as far as Season 5 at least is not healthy. Would be great to have more of the protection stuff and less of the constant fighting.

One of my top podcasts

I LOVE Mabel. currently relistening and it fills me with such terror. the foreshadowing is excellent, and the characters have really grown since the first season. 💕💕
