Has Kamala Harris Changed? Or Have We?

This week Ross, Lydia and Carlos dissect the seismic campaign vibe shift in both parties. Plus, Ross criticizes another self-indulgent addition to the modern era’s Western canon.

Can a MAGA Warrior Go Normie? Michelle Cottle Goes to a Biker Bar to Find Out.

We’re getting ready for this week’s presidential debate. In the meantime, we wanted to share an audio essay from Michelle Cottle on a make-or-break vote for the MAGA warrior Lauren Boebert. The controversial lawmaker is facing a primary in Colorado that will determine her political future. Michelle visited a biker bar in Douglas County, Colo., to understand the ways Boebert is tweaking her image in a new district in hopes of winning over more traditional conservatives. Can she do it without losing hard-core Trump fans?

Olympics?!

Just listened to the Super Bowl episode. I am sure I was one of many to be listening while scratching my head, and wondering why the Olympics was not mentioned as a mass cultural event that crosses over politics.

My favorite podcast?

I certainly didn’t feel like I needed another political podcast in my feed, so it has been to my great surprise that a Matter of Opinion has become one of only two podcasts that I instantly listen to when it becomes available. The shorter length brings a nice conciseness, and without in any way knocking Lydia, Carlos or Michele (each are intelligent, insightful, and witty), if every discussion amongst liberals included Ross Douthat, we would live in a much saner world. Boy, it would be wonderful to have an equivalent mostly conservative podcast with one conservative-whispering leftie
