If you're getting a little tired of those dry, fusty podcasts about ghosts, chupacabras, and hairy what-have-yous wandering around the woods, put down your night vision goggles because you've found your new home. One Bizarre Podcast is a collaboration between Caity Heart and Blaquie O, two lifelong friends who bond over the supernatural, in-jokes, and craft beers of various kinds. Each week a supernatural subject is put forth, research is presented, and a conclusion is reached regarding its veracity. But the supernatural stuff is just the icing: the soft, moist cake is the infectious chemistry between the two hosts. The candles are the in-jokes. The metaphor is a birthday cake, don't question why.

On the one hand you have Heart, who finds almost everything deliriously funny, on the other you have Blacquie, who stoically endures Heart's strange tangents and excesses. Heart is the believer, Blacquie the skeptic, they've been friends since childhood, and that bond comes through in the podcast in a way that can't be duplicated. It's worth listening from the beginning because the in jokes come fast and furious. You still won't get a logical explanation of why, for example, Heart suddenly goes into a prospector voice halfway through every episode, but in the end it will all make sense somehow. The supernatural was never about logic anyway, it's about fun, and no show understands that better than One Bizarre Podcast.
