Customer Reviews
Five stars
Mediawatch gives a good insight on goings-on in NZ and beyond; it gives a good occasional outsider’s view of goings-on in Australia and elsewhere. The program is a good mix summing up of the shlock and horror of NZ popular radio, the reporting of current NZ issues, the business side of the NZ news media, and key legal issues such as privacy facing the media everywhere
News media are essential for democracy. I believe that programs such as Mediawatch are essential as a watchdog on the NZ media and media beyond NZ’s shores. I’m a Brisbane-ite, formerly a regular listener of ABC Radio National’s Media Report until RN cut the program. Also a long time fan of ABC TV’s Mediawatch going back to when Stuart Littlemore was the host. Aussies would do well to listen to this program.
Needless to say, Colin and Hayden have broadcast quality voices. I never lose concentration on their subject matter in the way that I commonly do with podcasters who don’t work in the delivery
