28: Boston’s Serial Killer Nurse - “Jolly Jane” Toppan

During the late 1800s into the beginning of the 20th Century, the greater area of Boston, MA was plagued by a young female serial killer. Countless murders of the elderly and the sick were disguised as natural deaths. The perpetrator could have continued their murder spree for decades had her killings not become so personal. This is the story of Boston’s “Jolly Jane” Toppan whose claim, if true, makes her the most prolific serial killer in American History.

25: THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD - A TALE OF TWO SERIAL KILLERS PART III

25: THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD - A TALE OF TWO SERIAL KILLERS PART III

Once known as the Murder Capital of the world, the picturesque beach County of Santa Cruz, CA was terrorized by not one but two serial killers between 1972 and 1973. Edmund Emil Kemper III and Herbert William Mullin were behind some of the most grotesque and brutal slayings in criminal history, and sometimes their victims were even murdered within miles and days of one another. It was the only time that two serial killers were active at the same time in the same place. This is the story of their crimes, their victims, and how their killings forever impacted criminology.

As this story comes to a close, it only becomes more horrifying, shocking, and beyond disturbing.

CAUTION! This episode contains the following topics which some listeners may be sensitive to:

Child abuse, animal abuse, matricide, necrophilia, and cannibalism.
