Your Inner Game Determines Your Outer Performance with Theresa Smith

Your Inner Game Determines Your Outer Performance with Theresa Smith

“I have the wisdom to know that I am not for all but that I am for many, and the confidence to know that for many, I am magical”

This quote is from my friend @iamtheresaasmith and really wraps up self leadership in one sentence.

When you are being your authentic self, you will naturally attract the right people who want to hear your message. The messy part can be figuring out - who is my authentic self?

I believe a major key is self awareness as it leads to self leadership so we can direct that authentic self to express itself.

All of this begins with mastering your inner world and learning the tools so that you can deal with the challenges that you face in any area of your life. We talk about relationships and business mainly in this episode.

Part of self awareness is body awareness and Theresa shares a powerful story of uncovering what her physical ailments were telling her and her process of moving through fear to act on something that was 100% true for her.

I had chills and tears in my eyes hearing this story so you will want to tune in to hear it - this episode is an investment of your time you will not regret!

    During this episode we discuss:

Your career can be a ladder or a web

Trusting that others know the next step better than you do..what are the consequences of that?

Do you have a longing that you can contribute more in life?

Self leadership has its foundations in self awareness

Intention is the connecting key between body awareness and self leadership

Physical ailments are related to your inner world

Dealing with physical ailments is easier than emotional discomfort

‘Your inner game determines your outer performance’ & ‘your personal development is your professional development’

Theresa’s advice for those who want to become more intentional leaders in any area of your life

Connecting to the rhythms and flows in your life - transitions can bring about fears of change

Theresa’s vulnerable share of her coming out story

Do you deal with the root cause of physical ailments even if there is a threat to your family, friends or career and risk physical ailments your whole life?

Reflection is the key in adult learning

The areas for pain and love are very close in your brain - if you run from one you distance yourself from the other

    Theresa’s Bio:

Are You Wearing Someone Else’s Beliefs

Are You Wearing Someone Else’s Beliefs

Ever have the feeling of ‘If I do this, then my life will get better’?

‘This’ could be anything - eat a clean diet, exercise consistently, hire a team, work on marketing; literally anything

And then when it comes to doing that one thing, you can just never seem to actually do it?

Well I had that feeling a lot. All of the time actually.

And I thought there was something wrong with me - I labelled myself a procrastinator and assumed I was lazy (amongst other things).

But even that is something I didn’t want to experience..so why would I say that?

I had to do some digging but I discovered that it had everything to do with belief systems!

You only act in accordance with what you believe is true about yourself…

So the question becomes are you wearing your beliefs or someone else’s and how is that impacting your life?

Tune into this episode where I unpack all of that and go into examples of how that can affect your life!

Hi -- I’m Tracy: a holistic Chiropractor by trade and spiritual, intuitive guide and mentor by nature. My technical expertise and education as a chiropractor helped me to better understand the human body and what physical patient “care” looks like, and my spirituality and intuitive nature has helped me to realize that at the end of the day, what we really need is a holistic approach to comprehensive healing.

This learning has manifested in many different ways through many different lessons: one of which has been working with Bob Proctor in coaching the global collective to live with purpose. The experiences I’ve had professionally and personally have informed the intuitive way I have created and run my business, Atelier I’X, under which we house a podcast, Spirit of Success.

Grounded Spirituality as the Foundation for Your Life & Business with Aleyah Swan

Grounded Spirituality as the Foundation for Your Life & Business with Aleyah Swan

Today’s episode is a really special one! My friend Aleyah Swan joined us today to talk about something I’ve wanted to talk about for a long time!

The title of this podcast has the word ‘spirit’ in it because spirituality is a huge part of what I have always done in my life. I realized we are spiritual and having a human experience, however, when I joined many spiritual groups, I realized there were many dogmatic ideas of what it means to be spiritual.

I believe this is why there is hesitancy around incorporating spirituality into our lives!

Spirituality is something that you define for yourself, but in my opinion not something you can run away from. I actually found that embracing it has made my life much easier!

I wanted to have Aleyah on the show because she made a huge impact on my life by introducing me to my sacred support. She also helps many entrepreneurs incorporate spirituality into their business!

In addition, she has gone through her own personal tragedy losing a home to fire and tells us how spirituality helped her stay out of victim mode and find gratitude to move forward in her life.

If you are feeling challenged or blocked or are interested in moving through challenges with ease, this episode is for you!

    During this episode we discuss:

Spirituality is an individual process; it will always come to you in a language you understand

The spiritual community was more dogmatic than I thought; how do you navigate that?

‘There’s no way not to be spiritual’ - we are spiritual beings!

Generally, those with a spiritual practice moved through 2020 in a more centered way

Personalized health care is needed! Everyone’s experiences are unique and we need providers who can meet these needs

Mirroring - the next lesson for you to learn will be reflected back to you in people, places or things. Physical health issues can be the gateway to spirituality

Going through the dark night of the soul pain without bypassing allows for the warrior to come through. With gentleness and softness

If you feel exhausted all of the time and like you aren’t making progress, you have to ask yourself why?

Transgenerational patterns are real and energy work is the secret to working through them

What you feel on the inside is what you experience physically; we both give real life examples

Internal Family Systems is a model that can help you generate compassion for yourself

Aleyah takes us through the tragedy she experienced when her house burnt down; her biggest challenge was learning to receive.

How you can lean into gratitude and avoid victim mindset during a tragedy

    Aleyah’s Bio:

With over 20 years of energy healing experience, Aleyah’s obsessed with helping entrepreneurs integrate their sacred superpowers into their everyday life and business.

Through providing grounded spiritual guidance and connection to their own sacred support team, she helps digital CEO’s achieve a tangible, and self-affirming sense of worthiness, support, and purpose.

She believes that as an entrepreneur, your business is a profound and direct extension of your heart, and that what you’re doing matters.

Hard Work vs. Miserable Work - Do You Know The Difference?

Hard Work vs. Miserable Work - Do You Know The Difference?

I feel it’s necessary to continue the conversation from last week about ‘hard’ work and I want to make something abundantly clear - there is no one to blame.

It is not anyone’s fault and there is no one to blame. Whoever passed down these beliefs to you were just doing the best they could with what they had.

However, our society is changing and many of the most common problems and diseases can be tied back to this…

    So what do you do?

The easy solution is to try and fix everything else and even other people..but I believe that is the wrong game altogether.

The only game worth playing is the game of life and you get to play that one when you decide to change yourself.

In order to play this game, you need to know the rules...I didn’t know there was a difference between hard work and miserable work and where these ideas even came from.

When I found out, it changed my life profoundly, like basically everything in it.

Today’s episode takes you through it and some great questions to ask if you are sick and tired of feeling like shit all of the time.

In Order to “See” You Need Space with Candice Faktor

In Order to “See” You Need Space with Candice Faktor

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. - Viktor Frankl

This is one of the most powerful quotes around today and if you consider it carefully and apply it to your life, you will see dramatic changes.

This is what my guest today, Candice Faktor did. Candice has a long history of working in the tech industry in a variety of executive positions.

Candice is someone who I admire deeply for many reasons, but especially for her leadership style. She exudes calmness and confidence and is a balance of both masculine and feminine energies.

During this episode she vulnerably shares with me what the costs (and benefits) of being so achievement oriented and living in scarcity are. And what ultimately caused her to change her ways of leading and her approach to life.

One of the keys to her change with re-examining space and how that quote above was the instigator and inspiration for her.

This episode has so much wisdom in it, no matter where you are in life, you will benefit from it. I’ve listened to the episode multiple times already and every time I get something new!

Enjoy this one and be sure to share with someone who also needs to hear it!

    During this episode we discuss:

How to listen to your inner feminine voice and ‘alpha’ sides

Growing up with an immigrant background in a male dominated industry

What is the cost of being achievement oriented and playing into society’s norms?

What happens if the #1 person you have to take care of is yourself? So that you can be in service of others

Would you take a mid-life gap year?

The most vulnerable answer Candice gave to a question that changed the trajectory of her life

Living in scarcity and striving for more can lead to certain success but what about diminishing returns?

We all have our own journeys, including traumas. Those can lead to results until a certain point… our job may be to heal from those

    Reimagining ‘space’

The benefits of transcending your emotions

    Candice’s Bio:

Our vision for learning leaves the industrial age behind and looks to a world of lifelong learning, that's live, with peers, led by creators we trust and accessible from anywhere.

I'm passionate about lifelong learning + creator economy + community.

I helped scale Wattpad, one of the world’s largest storytelling communities, which sold for US$660MM.

My love of learning led me to create cohort based courses years ago and the Gamechanger.co learning community both of which inspired me to create Disco.

I am a venture partner for Lobby.vc and a Board member of Coveo, an enterprise saas platform.

I am from South Africa, live in Toronto, a yogi at heart, a mom to awesome boys and a recent pup and married to a filmmaker.

    Working Hard or Hard Work?

    Working Hard or Hard Work?

If you get anything from this episode I want you to ask yourself what your beliefs are around working hard and hard work.

Seriously - this may be the most important thing you do all week.

Feel tired all the time? Wondering why work feels like a bore? Why do the days go by slowly?

Are you running a program of hard work under everything you do?

I saw the damnest thing as a Chiropractor - patients would come into the office because they were doing so much and literally in physical pain. They wanted to solve that problem by doing more rehab/treatment with the same underlying belief of working hard that caused the problem in the first place.

Crazier still is that people were completely unaware of this..

Even crazier is that working with small business owners/entrepreneurs now, I actually see the same pattern even though it manifests differently!

We have incredible levels of dissatisfaction at work and increasing rates of burnout and deeply I know that this topic is related to if not one of the major causes.

This is also interconnected with self trust which is a topic covered a few weeks ago.

My intuition is telling me I need to release this episode because someone needs to hear it so I can’t wait for you to listen.

If you notice this hard work belief system in yourself and are feeling overrun, please reach out to me - I am here to help!
