Come for the Comedy, stay for the Music
Josh is a great host and passionate about music. Plain n simple. It’s a great meditation to put the focus on what Rolling Stones considers the 500 most important albums of all time and contextualize those works through the intersections of our current daily lives. The show works it’s best whenever either JAM or the guest are really into the artist/album being discussed. Would (and have) recommended this podcast to any stand up comedy or music fan. Keep it fleecy.
Cut His Mic
This show further perpetuates the fact that any moron with a microphone, and the intellect of a toddler can host a podcast. There is so much potential that is unfortunately and completely wasted with the nonsensical diarrhea spewing from his mouth. I want to like it but I can’t.
Declining quality
The show USED to be a decent discussion of the album but has turned into Josh having a vaguely album related chat with a guest. Josh is just mailing it in at this point. His “scat” singing gets on your nerves quickly. His fragile ego and insecurity are on display every episode. Not a good music podcast. The guests are usually better prepared to discuss the album than the host.
