Rocky Opal ,

You guys are the best in the business

I appreciate you and Ryan so much Bill. It's good to hear thoughtful takes and meaningful breakdowns about the NBA. These days most of these other shows try to grab and forge headlines, not going to name any names....first take, cough, cough.......but you guys talk real hoops and it's so much fun to listen and learn from the both of you. You genuinely add to my experience of the NBA season with your podcasts and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Update: Warriors obsession

Why has this become the unofficial podcast of the Golden State Warriors? Bill is always trying to dream up trades for, fawning about the mystique of, and generally spending far too much time thinking and talking about the TENTH SEED in the Western Conference. He seems too close to the organization and not able to let go of his favourite team that isn’t the Celtics. // The show dipped earlier, but what hasn’t during the pandemic? Kudos to Bill for trying to deliver good content every week that’s kept us entertained through a difficult time. The Cuban interview was excellent. I could’ve listened to another two hours of that. // What I like about Bill: -His Celtics homerism doesn’t get in the way of sound opinions about the rest of the league (Update: during the 2020 playoffs Bill constantly moaned about random Heat player X getting hot for a quarter against the Celtics; this was not only annoying in its own right, but it made it seem like the Celtics were special victims of this phenomenon, which as Raptors fans who suffered Marcus Smart can attest, isn't true or deserving of so much repeated attention); -He loves basketball and has deep historic knowledge of the game, and this remains true today; -He’s willing to think creatively about how the league and the game could be changed, how to conceptualize different players and eras, etc.; -Passion, positive and negative. Nothing better than listening to Bill talk about the Knicks’/Lakers’ front office incompetence. But he also gives credit where credit’s due. His knack for perspective is excellent. -Automatic minimum 4 stars for having three rescue dogs!
