The Fold Podcast - Episode 20: CommUNITY Catchup with SABRE The FOLD

    • Arts

The one thing unifying us all in this process is that no matter the difference in challenge, we are all facing some type of it, or need to face things in our lives in a raw, real way. My op is that isolation is probably one of the most unfit words for this period of time because in actual fact, we're not alone.

With that being said, Ola set up a weekly Instagram live series to speak with existing and newly welcome members of the Sonic Fold community (including those connected to music and beyond), on how they are cultivating connection during this time.

On April 14, dear pal Sabre joined Ola on the livestream. Originally from San Diego, California with life and career experience in LA, Sabre made the move to Toronto three years ago to explore her art and many talents – which is why she can be dubbed a ‘creatrix’

Sabre is a vocalist that has performed and worked with an array of local and international artists and producers, and experimented with various sounds and styles, yet offers her own signature blend of neo-soul, r&b, jazz, pop, and beyond, at times inflected by reggae and hip hop. She can do it all. We discussed her approach of choosing love over fear 24/7, how this acts as a foundation in her work, a recent online collab for IsoLab, created by award-winning producer, Rainer, and sharing insight with other artists on how they can share their art and explore opportunities to build and create with others in a meaningful way.
