#160: "Helpisode" Grow and Evolve as A New Grad with Ashlie Mardis
Ashlie Mardis a.k.a @redhead.rdh is a recent graduate who has paved her way with passion and purpose. She has followed her heart into the field of dental hygiene and is inspiring others to practice with compassion and empathy "putting the patient first"
Ashley shares some great tips for the new graduate to make the transition from school to the real world. Here are a few words from Ashlie: My name is Ashlie Mardis but I go by Ash. I am from Idaho Falls, ID and I am a wife and mother to 3 boys. I started off my dental career through dental & hygiene assisting. After having my children I went back to school & I graduated as a registered dental hygienist during the pandemic in 2020 and have been practicing for 4 years. I am known as RedheadRDh on my Instagram social handle @redhead.rdh. I started this page expressing my passion for scrub-life hairstyles as well as, sharing all things toothy to help prevent burnout in my career, hopefully build a small business, and help mentor others in the dental hygiene field. While I still share scrub-life hairstyles on my page, over time, my page has developed being geared towards my career as a redheaded dental hygienist, providing tips and educational content as well as humorous funny content.

#158: The Balance of Decay and Prevention
As a dental hygienist, it is important for us to understand the process of how decay happens in the mouth. We are prevention specialists charged with providing our patients with the information, knowledge, and skills required to mitigate the risk of dental decay. The selection of topicals and at home products continues to grow and expand. It is important to keep an eye on the research to properly align your patients needs with the appropriate products. I am excited about where the field of dental hygiene prevention is going. Those who know will grow.

#155: "Helpisode" Smartweight Technology with Marna Pacheco
Many of our dental patients present in the office with some level of dental anxiety. Often times it takes a bit of time working with our patients to discover the level of anxiety they have or the source behind their dental anxiety.
Marna Pacheco is the owner of CapeAble. She has developed weighted products that align with current neuroscience using smartweight technology to optimize more nerve contact. Simply put, the product works!
In this episode, I speak with Marna and learn her story of how CapeAble was formed. I just love her story and could not wait to share her story and her product development. I have personally used her products in the clinical setting and can't say enough about the benefits of use! I started working on sharing language with patients and found that "Comfort Shield" worked the best to produce an inviting and open mind to the use of these products with patients. I hope you open your mind to discovering how this product can help you with your patients.
