Ringo Starr and Dhani Harrison REPRISE, plus a preview of Blur Live At Wembley from Travis & Lisa at The Guestroom

Ringo Starr and Dhani Harrison REPRISE, plus a preview of Blur Live At Wembley from Travis & Lisa at The Guestroom

There's kind of a theme to this week's show, which is admittedly a bit of a mashup of two previous episodes plus a new chat with Travis & Lisa from The Guestroom in Louisville, KY.
It all started last summer, when Lisa and Travis flew to London to see Blur in concert at the legendary Wembley Stadium. Cut to this year, and the July 26 release of the Blur Live At Wembley set. Paul caught up with Travis & Lisa to debrief them on what it was like to actually be there. Woo Hoo!

Well, Blur's Graham Coxon has recently been playing with Dhani Harrison, so we took this opportunity to re-post Paul's chat with Dhani earlier this year. Topics included working with his dad, George Harrison, who as you probably know was in The Beatles.
Well, THAT made us want to close this week's episode with a reprise of Paul's conversation with the legendary drummer from The Beatles, Ringo Starr. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got an actual Beatle!

So many connections here, and that's not even including the fact that both Blur and The Beatles were signed to the Parlophone label in the UK! Say "Beetlebum" three times and you're there.

Redd Kross (Jeff & Steven McDonald)

This year, the genre-straddling Hawthorne, California rock band Redd Kross are celebrating 45 years as a band, and as such, founding brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald have been involved in a number of biographical projects including a memoir, Now You’re One Of Us (with author Dan Epstein), and director Andrew Reich’s career-spanning documentary, Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story. But perhaps the most relevant to our interests here at the RSD Podcast is their brand new self-titled, 18 song double-album Redd Kross, (In the Red Records).
Jeff and Steve are here to talk about it all in this lively conversation that you won’t want to miss.

Great show!

This is consistently a great podcast with amazing interviews with superstars and (equally interesting) lesser known artists.

For True Music Fans

Paul does his research. He’s been in the music business as a musician, is well informed and does enough research to ask great questions. In every episode I’ve learned something about the industry.

Sorely Missed Voice

I used to listen to Paul on AM talk radio in Vancouver daily till the station changed to an all weather formate long ago. I lost my favourite host that I shared both similar music and film tastes with. We are contemporaries that both grew up in the shadow of Toronto so his references to his youth are always familiar. So glad I found this podcast and a long lost voice I’ve missed for years.
