Antarctica | Ep 4 | Madhouse at the End of the Earth

Warning: this episode contains a story about sexual assault. This series began with investigation into the death of Rodney Marks, but it’s developed into something much broader. A bleak picture of how mysterious deaths, and crimes in general, are dealt with in Antarctica.

In this episode, Stephen hears first-hand about a pervasive culture of harassment and sexual assault in Antarctica. He hears how Antarctic authorities who are supposed to investigate can display shocking levels of incompetence.

Fascinating and gripping

Just finished the first 2 seasons. The title of this podcast is a bit deceiving because each season is a different investigative story. The quality of this series is top tier, can’t recommend enough!

Exceptional podcast

I started listening to this podcast at 10am this morning and just finished at 7:50 this evening; I was absolutely riveted. This podcast tells the very important stories of passengers and crew of flight 149 who were stranded in Kuwait when their flight landed 2 hours before Iraqi forces invaded in 1990. What follows is tragic; men, women and children held hostage for months, experiences these people and their families still struggle with today. It’s a story that has been suppressed by the UK government and British Airways and overlooked by media. Journalist Stephen Davis and the passengers and crew demonstrate great courage in telling their stories and exposing the truth. This podcast is highly recommended.

Very well done

Puts you in the mind of the people that were there, binged everything available without subscription in a day. I was very young when it took place and didn’t even know it happened, definitely going to learn more about it.
