Last episode I talked about the role the prosecutor played in finally forcing Mike Bullard to take a plea deal. A judge had thrown out the criminal harassment charge after a review of all the evidence but while they were waiting for that decision the prosecutor approved charges against a member of Bullard’s defence team: a private investigator.

Malicious prosecution is an incredibly high bar to prove. I want to be clear that Meghan Scott has not been disciplined for misconduct in this case, and the only investigation into the issue has been my own. It is my opinion, based on the transcripts, that this prosecutor abused her power seeking to pile on as many charges as possible, some of which undermined her own case.

Welcome back Mike
It’s awesome to hear Mike Bullard again. Better than ever.
Thoroughly unconvincing
The host takes everything Mike did in the absolute most charitable way, and everything Cynthia did in the least charitable. The bias here is on display. The host runs an explicitly anti-feminist YouTube channel, and whether Mike is guilty or not, he has been fished out for the overt purpose of discrediting the entirety of the metoo movement, even though this case has absolutely nothing to do with metoo. The motive here is obvious. The expose is unconvincing and requires belief in an unfounded conspiracy of a network of people in media, law enforcement, and the judicial system. The purpose was to recruit Mike as an anti-metoo poster boy into a podcast network composed of fascist dogwhistling. This is a podcast for the kind of anti-intellectuals who start with the conclusion, and then shoddily hammer together post-hoc rationalizations to confirm their preconceptions. Have some respect for yourself, and skip this one.
