    Blackpool: Going Home

    Blackpool: Going Home

Blackpool was the scene of our first ever Who Are Ya episode, where we joined an Anti-Oyston protest march.

Thanks to the hard work, dedication and persistence of Blackpool FC supporters, they Oystons have at long last been ousted.

Nearly two years after we recorded the first Who Are Ya, we joined the Blackpool fans again - as the Bloomfield Road turnstiles welcomed back so many old friends.

Here is a short episode, where they tell us in their own words, what it means to be going home.

    Football and Tragedy

    Football and Tragedy

This episode is different from our usual club-focussed approach as we explore football’s relationship with tragedy. The history of football has unfortunately been littered with tragic events, but has football changed how it deals with death? Can football be a force for good in dealing with grief, or has the media turned death into spectacle?

The guys of Who Are Ya? do a great job of weaving together compelling stories of clubs that may not typically be at the front of your minds. The thoughtfulness and fantastic production set it head and shoulders above the baseline of football pods. Well worth the listen and now one of my favourite football podcasts.

The Fans Come First

This podcast does an excellent job of laying out the issues, concerns and love the fans have for their respective clubs. They allow the voices of the fans to be heard. A member of the team actually goes to a match so they get a better perspective about the club which I think is important. I'm a fan of a long form podcast so I would like more history of the club, but I understand the need to appeal to the mass market podcast episodes for commuting etc. I really believe this podcast should be on your must listen list. Thank you to the Who Are Ya team on all your hard work, this is an excellent podcast.
