I’m deeply disappointed & concerned by the Rogers brass (as usual). Cancelling a beloved Leafs show for having integrity and telling it like it is in probably the most hockey-educated market in the world is unconscionable. The idea that we don’t know when the Leafs suck is laughable. We celebrate when they’re good and diagnose and commiserate when they’re bad. Shutting these boys up for speaking honestly is Mar-A-Lago level malfeasance. Bring the show back and stop trying to control and propagandize fandom! You already killed Hockey Night In Canada… $&@#!!!

First off, I’d like to apologize to JD and Sam for not leaving a review until now. For all of the Leafs Talk followers who are angry about this decision, but never left a review with 5 stars, we are at fault as well. Whoever cancelled Leafs Talk (assuming some bean counter / suit at Rogers, or an extremely thin-skinned member of the management group at MLSE) has completely lost the script. JD and Sam perfectly represent the spirit of the “The Fan”, or at least what it was originally meant to represent. Even during rough times, shows like Leafs Talk, (and Blair/Barker’s postgame show) keep fans connected to the team by giving them an outlet to vent, share unfiltered thoughts (even if we aren’t former professional athletes), and connect. And more-so, provide ENTERTAINMENT. We love sports as fans because it gives us an escape from work, and is something that we can all can have opinions on and debate (regardless of our professional sports background/credentials). Leafs Talk provided that outlet and connection to other diehard fans in a thoughtful, fun, and hilarious way. JD and Sam are awesome, love the leafs (regardless of legitimate criticisms), and most importantly, they listen to other fans and put the work in. And this is how you repay them? If the stiffs at Rogers or MLSE come for the KD Bunkis podcast or Sam (Kyper/Bourne) I will switch my phone and cable packages to Bell out of spite. Thanks JD and Sam for you entertainment and passion - this show will be missed! P.S. I’m a major tool for not leaving a review earlier.

This show was a mix of great instant analysis, hilarious takes, and therapy for diehard Leafs fans. It was a place to convene after the game when you wanted to feel like part of the experts’ group chat. Apparently Rogers couldn’t bear that a show they own would criticize a team they own? For a media company it doesn’t seem like they really understand what sports radio and podcasts are / do. Anyway, hopefully they bring it back on their own and call it “Troy’s Boys”
