02 X 229 The Blind Handy-Person 01: Meet Your Hosts and Fall Maintenance

On the premier episode of The Blind Handy-Person, you meet Victor Gouveia and Claudia Del Real, the two hosts of the show, as they talk about their experiences owning and maintaining a home, as blind homeowners, and how they’ve had to tackle repairs, both, personally and with professionals.

Victor and Claudia also talk about Fall maintenance homeowners and apartment renters need to perform to save themselves some money, or to prevent costly repairs that may affect their homes and apartments in the winter months.

The Blind Handy-Person is the show where home living, repairing and maintaining are talked about, all from a blind perspective. You’ll find product reviews, interviews and techniques to tackling most jobs around the home, because sometimes, blind individuals have no support with which to rely on for home maintenance and repair, and must rely on themselves, and Whose Blind Life is it Anyway intends to compliment The Blind Handyman Show with updated information and possible techniques that may take into account technology that was not available during the initial run of the Blind Handyman show. You can catch The Blind Handy-Person every Sunday Night at 8:00 pm Eastern, 7:00 pm Central, 6:00 pm Mountain, and 5:00 pm Pacific, on Whose Blind Life is it Anyway.

02 X 227 The Blind Perspective 27: What Can We Do to Keep Our Doctors Working

02 X 227 The Blind Perspective 27: What Can We Do to Keep Our Doctors Working

This year, several provincial governments are reporting a budget surplus due to pre-mature retirements of doctors, with many doctors citing burn out, Covid-19 and income constraints as the cause of their retirement.

So it’s no wonder that wait times are increasing, and medical specialties are in demand.

In response, , many experts are recommending a reduction of doctor’s dues and licenses and other overhead that may be contributing to these income constraints. Experts feel this may inspire longer working life spans in doctors.

The natural question is if this is enough, and should doctors be able to get lower practicing fees, just to continue practicing, especially when one considers that doctors are one of the higher paying professions.

Join our panel, on Saturday, 4:00 pm (EST), 1:00 pm (PST), 9:00 pm (GMT), as they discuss topical news items of importance from a blind perspective.
