A podcast geared to help encourage young adults seeking to grow in their faith to be grounded in sound doctrines of the Reformed Faith. This Podcast is geared toward all Reformed Brethren. I chose particular Baptist as this is the doctrine this podcast most closely follows, the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. We don't want to start a fad, but simply want people go deeper in their understanding and love for Christ. This podcast will never be sympathetic toward critical race theory and condemns such a false gospel. Don't expect woke-ness.

    To the Broken, hopeless, Christian in despair

    Are you struggling to know if you are in Christ? Here are 3 reasons why and 3 reasons for hope! ——-“True believers may in various ways have the assurance of their salvation shaken, decreased, or temporarily lost. This may happen because they neglect to preserve it or fall into some specific sin that wounds their conscience and grieves the Spirit. It may happen through some unexpected or forceful temptation or when God withdraws the light of his face and allows even those who fear him to walk in darkness and to have no light. Yet they are never completely lacking the seed of God, the life of faith, love of Christ and the brethren, sincerity of heart, or conscience concerning their duty. Out of these graces, through the work of the Spirit, this assurance may at the proper time be revived. In the meantime, they are kept from utter despair through them.”-1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith Chapter 18:4

    PODCAST #3 Should we be afraid of the virus?

    PODCAST #3 Should we be afraid of the virus?

    Psalm 91:3-6 For it is He who rescues you from the net of the trapper
    And from the deadly plague.
    He will cover you with His pinions,
    And under His wings you may take refuge;
    His faithfulness is a shield and wall.
    You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
    Or of the arrow that flies by day;
    Of the plague that stalks in darkness,
    Or of the destruction that devastates at noon.

    Podcast #1- Intro to Young, Restful, and Particular Baptist

    Podcast #1- Intro to Young, Restful, and Particular Baptist

    Welcome to Young, Restful, and Particular Baptist, I'm your host Sam Wilking. By God's grace, it finally happened, I started a podcast. It has been my intention for a long time to seek new ways to reach many Christians with sound theology and to be encouraged in the faith.

    First, let me start by explaining who I am. My name is Sam Wilking, I come from a small town called Mebane, NC. In the spring of 2012, the Lord Jesus Christ worked in my heart and convicted me of sin, and drew me to faith in Himself for eternal life as my only hope for salvation. For almost nine years I have walked with the Lord and grown in the faith. There have been many backslidings, hardships, bad theology, rejection, persecution, maturity over the years. For the past three years, I have done street preaching/ abortion clinic ministry in the different areas where I live.

    Second, Let me explain my goals for this podcast. It is my hope and prayer that as many doctrines will be explained and taught, that many believers will be strengthened in their walk with Christ in true reverence and fear for Him.

    Third, what's with the name? The Young and Restless part of the name comes from the title given to new age Calvinists called the "Young, Restless, and Reformed" movement. The group was dedicated to bringing the doctrines of grace more popularity. Sadly it became nothing more than a passing fad. Many are still Calvinists but have not fully dug deeper into reformed theology. Instead of being restless, the goal is to be restful in Christ and His word. Next, Particular Baptist is another name for Reformed Baptist, those who subscribe specifically to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith? What is that you may ask? It is a restatement of the Word for a particular purpose—in this case, to summarize the overall teaching of that Word on various topics. It is a guide to make sure we stay within the bounds of orthodoxy. The Particular Baptists were Puritans who were known as the anabaptists, they did not hold to infant baptism, but believed according to scripture baptism was to be done by full immersion and for believers only. Particular Baptist doctrine made a huge comeback in the 20th century, but sadly has faded away to modern evangelicalism, wokeism, or died from a lack of zeal for the gospel. Many for the sake of unity have put away their sound doctrine so as not to sound legalistic. The problem is Christian souls are not growing as fruitful, nor is the church because we are not immersing ourselves in the sound doctrines of the faith and giving a clear understanding.

    Finally, my prayer is that many more young people will learn to subscribe to reformed doctrine more closer. I find the doctrines of grace is spiritual food given to us by God to help us in our walk day by day. To keep us puffed up in thankfulness for the covenant He has entered into us, not puffed up in the prideful knowledge. Doctrine is essential to the Christian life. I can't help but notice a majority of Christian songs written these days have to do with depression, sadness, holding on. I've been there and done that. I have personally had major depression attacks in my Christian walk. But a lot of it roots in a doctrinal issue. Seeing our sin for how it is but how great our dependence on Christ needs to be.

    "14 That we henceforth be no more children, wavering and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the deceit of men, and with craftiness, whereby they lay in wait to deceive.

    15 But let us follow the truth in love, and in all things, grow up into him, which is the head, that is, Christ."- Ephesians 4:14-15

    I pray this podcast will be a blessing to your soul and that many more Young, Restful, and Particular Baptists will join in on this show and help broaden doctrine for viewers. Soli Deo Gloria!
