In Paul's conclusion to this epistle, he presented clear guidance concerning God's will for Christians to follow as children of the day. Knowing Jesus died for us so we can live together with Him, we are comforted and edified even in the midst of troubles as we rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks.

In his letter to the church in Thessalonica, Paul urged them to sanctify themselves to increasingly walk in love and holiness before the LORD. He revealed to people who suffered persecution and sorrowed over Christians who had passed away the glorious gathering of all believers to Jesus in the rapture, and urged them to comfort one another with these words--as we ourselves are comforted in Christ.

Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica to encourage them and that they not be shaken by their afflictions, for they had been appointed to endure and remain fruitful despite affliction. In this world we will have tribulation and afflictions, yet we can be cheerful because Jesus has overcome, is working in and through us for good, and will deliver us out of all affliction.

Synopsis: In his letter to the church of Thessalonica, Paul reminded the church of his suffering, blameless conduct and boldness to share the Gospel of Jesus. Like a loving mother, encouraging father and dear brother, Paul cared for the Thessalonians who were His hope, joy and crown. The word of God that worked in Paul and the Thessalonians also works in believers to develop godly character.

After a brief season of ministry spanning weeks in Thessalonica, Paul penned this letter in response to a good report he received from Timothy who consequently visited them.
