For the past three weeks, we have explored the evolution of the local church from the time of the Book of Acts to the present day. Despite the changes over the last 2,000 years, the mission has remained consistent. In the next three weeks, we will shift our focus to the global church, examining how its mission has also stayed the same because Jesus' plan has always been to send out His disciples to grow and expand Christianity. Here at Southern Hills, we are committed to this mission. As Pastor Josh explains in today's message, "We are not building a holding tank; we are building a launching pad." As we delve into the final sermon of our series, "The Church," we focus on living missionally for Jesus. The key question we must ask ourselves is, "How can we contribute to and engage in the church's mission?" The answer lies in three fundamental truths: 1. We speak about Jesus, 2. We serve Jesus, and 3. We sacrifice for Jesus. While these points may seem straightforward, Pastor Caleb will reveal the profound depth, action, and conviction behind each one. In our second installment of this series "The Church" we see the miracles that God has done in our own church!

Today, we embark on a new sermon series titled "The Church." In this first week, we tackle the question, "Why the church?" This inquiry will lead us to explore related questions: Why did Jesus establish the church? Why does He care for it? What was the early church like? What lessons can we draw from it?
To address the central question, "Why the Church?" we will focus on three key points: the church gathered, the church gave, and the church grew. These elements were evident in the early church and remain relevant today at Southern Hills. Over the past 2,000 years, these principles have continued to resonate, as seen in the countless testimonies of our members who have experienced and embraced the practices of the early church.
As we strive for the church to gather, give, and grow, we must ask ourselves a critical question: have we become more comfortable singing about the mission than living it out? What steps can we take to change that?

Today, we conclude our Esther series with a finale and epilogue. This sermon, aptly titled "Divine Reversal, Part 2," highlights the profound shifts in power, wealth, and legal standings found in the final chapters of Esther. We're exploring the question, "How does God reverse the story?" and drawing three key points from Esther's narrative that resonate with us today:
1. From Victim to Victor
2. From Affliction to Celebration
3. From My Story to His Story
Throughout Esther, we've witnessed God's hidden hand at work. Now, as the story reaches its climax, we see how these divine twists ultimately lead to our good and His glory.

In Esther 7, the narrative unfolds with unexpected twists, revealing justice for the wicked and reward for the righteous. While the divine presence is implicit rather than explicit, one can discern God's strategic orchestration of events in Esther's life. What may appear as obstacles, tragedies, or misfortunes are actually precisely positioned dominoes in the grand design. Each seemingly adverse circumstance aligns perfectly, awaiting the gentle push from the divine hand to set off a chain reaction, guiding everything into its intended place with flawless precision.
