Refresh your motivation with a seasonal approach

Refresh your motivation with a seasonal approach

Ok, so despite the fact that I've been sharing about living according to seasons and cycles for years now, it turns out I had a blind spot. It hadn't occurred to me to take a seasonal approach to this podcast. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It turns out, just a simple shift of mindset and bringing in a seasonal approach made a big difference, renewing my motivation and inspiring some fresh ideas.

So as we launch into what is now officially Season 2, I'm sharing more on that, and asking you (yes you!) if a similar shift could be good for you too. We all have areas of life that feel a bit like a neverending treadmill, but maybe with a little tweak we can cultivate some ebb and flow enjoy a boost to our motivation and enjoyment.

#71. Chat with Tarin Calmeyer - Co-founder of Remote Team Wellness

#71. Chat with Tarin Calmeyer - Co-founder of Remote Team Wellness

Today I'm chatting with the wonderful Tarin Calmeyer.  Tarin and I met when we were training to become yoga teachers and, thanks to the way she said 'hello', became instant friends. Tarin was all set for a career in dance, but an injury meant her path changed direction. She has studied Osteopathy, consulted 5-star resorts on their wellness programs, and lived all over the world.

In 2020, Tarin and her partner (now husband) were separated for 10 months due to lockdown, and to stay connected, started meditating together online. This sparked an idea that turned into them co-founding Remote Team Wellness, providing virtual employee wellness programs for companies across the globe, including Dell, Netflix and Microsoft, to name a few.

Tarin and I chat life seasons, being (perhaps a little too) comfortable with change, her take on wellness in the corporate sector, and how business owners can genuinely support their employees wellbeing.

#69 Meditation: Meeting emotions that are present (or stuck) in your body

#69 Meditation: Meeting emotions that are present (or stuck) in your body

This guided meditation will help you to be with emotions as they show up in your body. Rather than analysing the emotion, we meet it as physical sensation. Instead of judgment, we bring curiosity. Notice what a difference loving awareness makes.

This meditation is a great one if you've had a situation or event that 'caused' a reaction in your body like a 'lump in your throat' or 'weight on your chest' or 'butterflies in your tummy'.

But it can also be a good one just to check in with your inner experience and learn to hold space for whatever is present within you.

    68. Menstrual Leave - Part 2

    68. Menstrual Leave - Part 2

Menstrual Leave is becoming increasingly common across the world, including in Australia. To me, that's a good thing. But it's not completely simple. In this episode I chat about some of the ideas and questions you've shared with me, as well as some of the concerns about menstrual leave. Is it a positive step for feminism, or could it even set us back?  Have a listen, and get in touch to let me know what you think!

Menstrual Leave: How (and why) I brought it into my business

Menstrual Leave: How (and why) I brought it into my business

In today's episode I share about how and why I started offering menstrual leave in my business, Eve.  It came out of my personal experience of resting during my period, and seeing what a positive difference that made in my life. It was also about wanting to be part of the change that I believe we need in the world.

I talk about the practicality of bringing in menstrual leave, and the financial cost to the business.

Does your employer offer menstrual leave? Or if you have a business, do you offer menstrual leave to your team? I'd love to hear about it! Connect with me on instagram and let me know!
