Soooooomebody once told us this podcast was gonna roll us, we aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. The iconic Shrek is finally on the podcast. We paired this episode with Monsters’ Nasty Beast Tea clocking in at a 6% ABV that got us real silly.

Keeping it in theme with Valentines and romance, Beto chose a movie he hadn’t even seen himself yet: “Past Lives.” Similar to “Blue Valentine”, it explores themes that, although aren’t overdramatized, are far too real to ignore. It won’t make you cry, but you might sulk for a while if you’ve experienced what Nora and Hae Sung have gone through. Milo chose what he thought was a really sad movie and it really is a sad movie; it is a movie that happens every day. People fall in and out of love and we talk about why it was an interesting decision to show the parallels of people falling in and out of love. Witness me! We took a ride down to Valhalla, but unfortunately, are still mediocre. We talked about George Miller’s 4th installment in the Mad Max series: an absolutely amazing dystopian, action movie with a killer score, beautiful landscape scenes and some crazy stunts and car chases! Starting a new season off with a bang and a recent release! Beto chose this movie and what seemed on the surface as a run of the mill horror movie, ended up being a lot more than we expected as we did a deep dive. However, once made clear, most of us raved about how they effortlessly used horror tropes mixed with a good story blended with heavy themes of addiction amongst other things that are pretty relevant right now.
