The Fish Taxi Accident

In Oregon, lots of salmon are NOT born in rivers. These baby fish are born in hatcheries. Workers help them grow. Young fish are safe there.
奧勒岡州有很多鮭魚不是在河裡出生，而是在魚卵孵化場。工作人員把牠們安全的養大。

When salmon are about a year and a half old, they leave their hatchery. They take a fish taxi!
到了一歲半，這些小魚就會搭計程車，離開孵化場。

Fish taxis are trucks with a big tank. Hatchery workers put salmon and water in the tank.
鮭魚計程車是裝載巨大魚缸的卡車，工作人員把魚缸裝滿水，把小魚放進去。

The truck drives the fish to a river. The salmon swim down the river to the ocean. There, they become big and strong.
卡車載小魚到河邊，放進河裡，讓牠們從河流游進大海，長成強壯的大魚。

One day, a truck was driving near a river. The tank had more than 100,000 salmon in it. The fish were going to a big river.
有一天，一輛裝了十萬條魚苗的卡車要開到河邊。

But the road was wet. The truck turned and ---oh, no! There was a bad accident!
結果路面濕滑，讓卡車轉彎時出了車禍!

The driver was okay! But the tank rolled down by the river. Water and many, many salmon came out of the tank!
還好駕駛沒事，但車上的水缸滾到了河邊！裡面的魚苗幾乎都流出來了。

Some did not live… But 77,000 salmon were very lucky! They fell into the river and swam away!
有的鮭魚沒有活下來，但還是有7萬7千隻的鮭魚很幸運地掉進河裡游走了。

The Kid Teacher

A young girl was inspired by her older brother and sister. They were doing very well in school. She became excited about doing well in school too!

From Wild Goats to Pet Goats?

A small Italian island has about 100 people. It also has about 600 wild goats!

Space Junk Zooms Over California

Do you look at the sky at night? Well, one night in California, people saw a big, bright light. It zoomed across the sky. Maybe it was a plane or a shooting star. But… it was falling to the Earth!
你會抬頭看晚上的天空嗎? 加州有一天晚上，民眾看到一道很亮的光，劃過天空。那可能是飛機或是流星。但是它卻掉到了地球上!

Later, scientists said it was a piece of a rocket. Pieces of broken or old rockets and satellites are space junk.
後來科學家說那是火箭的碎片。舊的火箭、衛星的碎片都是太空垃圾。

Millions of pieces of space junk zoom around the Earth. The pieces can zoom 28,000 kilometers an hour! They're a big problem! Space junk can hit satellites or spaceships.
數以百萬計的太空垃圾碎片繞著地球轉，它們移動的速度可以高達每一小時2萬8千公里，可能會打到衛星或太空船。

Sometimes space junk falls to the Earth. Scientists said the space junk falling over California was about 1,500 kilograms! But no one found it. Metal becomes very, very hot when it falls to the Earth. Maybe the space junk burned up!
科學家說掉在加州的太空垃圾重達1500公斤，但是沒有人找到。可能它掉落的時候，金屬過熱，整個燒掉了。

Scientists are finding ways to clean up space junk. They want to keep everyone safe from it.

Dragon Boat Racing in Alabama, USA!

Huh? What's that sound? That's right. Today is the Dragon Boat Festival!

That sound is a drum. The drum helps the people racing in a dragon boat. Those people are paddlers. They use paddles to move the boat. They paddle by listening to the drum on their boat.
