Well here we are as this week has changed from a noneventful week as it has been for awhile now to something feels like it has fundamentally changed in the Xbox ecosystem specifically to the fan and economic side. Since something so interesting happened I took the chance to grab Emmett Watkins Jr. on the show to give his thoughts on Xbox both closing four studios one being a seemingly successful studio in Tango Gameworks and how Game Pass seems to have changed its entire structure to an almost Activision like house of cards. A quick impressions video about my playtime in Stellar Blade. I am still early in but I feel like something is special about this game. Now to be clear, this is no Lies of P where a game comes out of nowhere and takes us all of guard but this game feels very fun and I think there is something here for a lot of people even though on the surface it seems very much geared to a specific subset of people. Lets talk about it!

2024 is almost halfway through and we are inching closer to nearly 10,000 lost jobs this year alone. It seems we are at a troubling time in the industry as on the surface Gaming is making more money than ever before and is ahead of all of its competitors in terms of money earned. However, ballooning budgets, economic effects, and much more factors are hurting the industry in its most important and weakest section, money. Combine all these factors are I believe gaming's future is uncertain. We know from much smarter people than I that gaming is not growing which is causing the big competitors to get creative on how they will increase their margins. That is what I want to discuss today, not to find a solution to this but to start a conversation on the how and why and what in the future may change. We have yet another slower news week as there is not much to talk about but that lets us delve a bit deeper into any subject I bring up! As always I thank you for taking the time. Stellar Blade is out and reviews are pretty good but it seems the narrative is rather weak. Eiyuden Chronicles is out too. No Rest for the Wicked and Hades 2 are getting some early testing via early access for No Rest and a tech test for Hades 2 which will be quickly followed by early access for the game. Fallout as a franchise is gaining more popularity due to the show's success. And much more to discuss but if I may divert from the description a bit it feels so quiet out there I wonder if we are due for a major news story soon or not. Well we have some catching up to do so let's get into it. Dragon’s Dogma 2 has taken over the gaming sphere and I want to give my thoughts on my pretty deep experience with the game. Unfortunately there will be no Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC and that breaks my heart. Some new looks at Marvel 1943 and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. Apple is being sued to break up their Apple Market. Assassin’s Creed Jade has been delayed a year although I am not sure if anyone even cares. Toys for Bob has been let go with an agreement with Microsoft. A small look at the all digital Xbox Series X. And for the main show let's talk about Gearbox breaking out of Embracer and Connie Booth has found a new working spot at EA. As always we end with Date Updates and What’s Queued Up.
