His behavior had changed and she was left with the realization that years of emotional pain was at the root of their issue! There was a Gap she had to figure out how to bridge, but that would take reflection, ownership and steps to mend her relationship with her son.
This was not what she expected, but it's what she helped create and now she had to fix it.
