Dime Bag Wine Ashley Habros

Let me preface that today's episode is a recording from literally the beginning in October or November 2020?  Before Allie moved to NY to pursue her dreams! We will be rating two wines, a red and a white - crazy we know cause Ashley typically only drinks red. If you're looking for a white wine that is crisp and has a fun bottle the JNSQ is your wine, it's a lovely $10 Sauv Blanc. The red is Cab Sauv called Hook or Crook Cellars which did not live up to our expectations. Since Allie moved we have yet to record a second episode but it will be in the works! Enjoy our banter on these wine, why Allie and I need to look at a US map more often, why we are triggered, and beginner wines. 

Rating a $3 wine from Trader Joes called Gambler's Flash from Paso Robles, CA. This is a proprietary blend of grapes which is a nice way of saying they're not telling you what grapes are really in it. I have John Robson talking about a few different restaurants in Fort Collins, bad drunk/hangover experiences, not drunk texting, and why you can not ever rate something a 7. 

Today's episode we are drinking a Robert Mondavi Merlot, (Woodbridge and Private selection) with Diego and Corina of the Chamba App. *Technically* both wines were $10 (Woodbridge was a magnum bottle which was $14 ($12 in CA), $6 for a regular 750). We rate the wine, we enjoy it, then instead of shit talking this week, we dive deep into what Diego has been building over the last year with Chamba, how Chamba is helping the latino community, and why you need to be creative with marketing when starting a new business. 

On this week's episode Ashley will be rating canned wines coming from Washington, Italy, and the Central Coast. Each wine is so different from the other which gives each type of wine drinker an option. Also this is Ashley's first solo episode which is frightening and exciting! It is highly encouraged for each listener to take a drink every time Ashley says F$#K, when she recorded she was feeling extra saucy and swore may more than usual. ALSO, Dime Bag Wine got an episode facelift with the intro! We are so thankful for a friend of ours that made it.

Today's episode we will be talking about our Barbera D'Asti wine. Ashley's is a 2018, Kate's is a 2018, and Hannah has a freakin box rose which to our surprise is actually delicious and cost effective! Also the three of us are cousins which means nothing is off limits. Throughout the episode you will also be listening in on Kate's experience within the wine industry, Hannah talking about her first time with sake, motherhood, and tracking your cycle. Just a couple of cousins hanging out, drinking wine, and shit talking. 

We have Sam and Elyse on today's episode rating Fronterra wine, it's a melbec coming from Argentina (2019). We will be shit talking about cheap beer?, the fictitious family that would buy this wine, Marky Mark vs. Matt Damon, and why drier wines are better than off dry when it comes to cheap wine.
