agri-CULTURE - Cultural Contributions to South Louisiana ft. Bernard Pearce

agri-CULTURE - Cultural Contributions to South Louisiana ft. Bernard Pearce

Culture is something that we should celebrate and honor.  In this video, Bernard Pearce discusses how, over time, we might co-opt an area with our culture and leave out people who are an important part of the collective culture and just as relevant to some of the products of that collective culture.  Bernard is a born resident of Saint Martin Parish in South Louisiana.  He has been a music venue owner and a chief cook on sailing vessels.  He's a poet, musician, artist, and historian.  In this video, Bernard discusses issues of geographical appropriation in South Louisiana.  How can we be more inclusive? How can we celebrate together?  What does this mean for the environments we live in. Maybe if everyone feels included we can be better and working together to do great things.

Dave Jacke of Edible Forest Gardens Origin Story

Dave Jacke of Edible Forest Gardens Origin Story

I met Dave Jacke at one of his forest garden design intensives and absolutely loved the guy.  He expounds on permaculture and even the idea of computer and neuro networks to develop systems that are low input overyielding polycultures and he has developed specialized teaching methods to spread the word.  My mind was absolutely blown after taking Dave's class but since the class I wanted to know more about how Dave Jacke got his start and he obliged with a phone call in which he told me about Dave Jacke, the early years.  Enjoy!

Abundance in Spirit, A conversation with Robyn Mello

Join us during this time of COVID-19 awareness and staying home as we speak with Robyn Mello who is an herbalist, permaculture instructor, mother, gardener, musician, festival organizer... you name it!  We discuss the topics of abundance, learning, and communicating.  Robyn talks about the cancellation of her highly anticipated permaculture design course. (co-teaching with Benjamin Weiss and others) and the possible rescheduling of her music festival.  Robyn and I talk about how she stepped into a role that she wouldn't have otherwise but through this trial, she realizes that she has everything she needs to provide herbalist services to her community within herself.  AAAAND we talk about foraging and being part of the wild community that is our planet.  It's a long interview but worth the watch and this is a great one to turn on and listen to like a podcast.  You will be delighted with what Robyn has to offer us.
