Racism and Colourism in the South Asian and Arab Community
Our first episode with Hosna and Asrah will be discussing the colourism and racism in South Asian and Arab communities. We will be delving into personal experiences and how people have been made to feel insecure and outsiders by their communities. We will also be discussing how media reinforces the idea that 'fairer skin is more beautiful', while medical companies exploit and capitalise on these ideologies, as well as touching on the lack of diversity in institutions such as the education sector. Finally, we discuss ways in which we can bring about change and combat the issues that pervade our societies today. Follow us on our Instagram: hearusout_podcast
