The great Muhammad Ali said "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth".
Even apart from Ali, many well known leaders and personalities like Bill Gates, Azim Premji, Robert Downey Jr. , Ratan Tata (, and Batman ;P) are great philanthropists.
But is giving back to society, a luxury that only the ultra rich can afford? How can we play our part in improving our community? Is giving back to the community even important? How (does it?) benefit us?

Leadership Failures
Everyone knows the best leaders - Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Bill Gates. We discuss these gems and their successes all the time. Few of us stop to think about what bad leadership is like. Everyone knows the virtues of an ideal leader, but what small, negligible errors guarantee a bad one? What led to the Chernobyl disaster? Was it the gas or their leader's mindset? (one more example insert)
