On Buried Bones, journalist Kate Winkler Dawson and retired investigator Paul Holes dissect some of history’s most compelling true crime cases from centuries ago. Together, they explore these very old cases through a 21st century lens. With their years of expertise and knowledge of modern forensics, they reflect on how far science has come and bring new insight to old mysteries.
Together, Kate and Paul have examined many cases including the 1932 Lindbergh baby kidnapping, the first time fingerprinting was used as evidence in a courtroom and a possible serial killer in 1960s Nashville. They ask, was the right person convicted or was someone wrongfully accused?

Love it
I love old cases and Paul Holes. Very interesting cases and not the usual true crime podcasts. And I love the female host Kate, they are a good match. So please keep going 😉
Great podcast with a little “but”…
The podcast is fantastic.
The cases are interesting and Paul Holes’ insights are incredible!
I am deeply impressed by his knowledge and the experience that can be heard here.
Kate Winkler Dawson also knows what she is talking about and presents the cases in an exciting way.
But here comes my “but”.
I'm annoyed by her attempts to be funny to lighten the situation.
Her jokes are simply not funny and her laughter seems artificial and contrived.
Personally, it annoys me a lot and the podcast does well without these comedy interludes.
But that's the only thing I have to criticize.
Everything else is absolutely good and exciting.
