I would be nothing without the love and support I feel from this community. I’ve grown so much in the four years since creating @kylierunssmiley and having you people here for everything has brought me a confidence and sense of self I never knew I had within me. I look forward to giving back to this community through sharing the lessons I have learned (and continue to learn) along the way

cheers to new beginnings and spreading the love so we can all live a life of excitement, adventure, health, love, and above all else: happiness

On Running Slower Than Before
EP11- On Running Slower Than Before
In my four years of college I have never raced faster than my high school PRs. A large reason for this has been my battles with injury: 4 bone injuries and two major surgeries. Racing again after time away (to heal) yields a mixture of emotions - happiness and gratitude to be competing but doubt/frustration that running feels hard/you’re not running the way you used to. This is a fairly universal experience for an injured runner but it’s not talked about enough. I want to share some tips I have mastered on the subject through my injury cycles to hopefully provide some love, encouragement, and healthy reminders.
Topics Covered in This Episode:
Racing Track for the first time in 2 years!
Details about my injury cycle/what kept me stuck in it
How I Finally Broke Through From the injury cycle
How to remain emotionally resilient when running slower than before
How to Remain Consistent
How I cut 63 seconds off my 3K time in four weeks
Insights into The best perspective a runner could adopt
I hope you all enjoy listening to this lil episode! I know that listening will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.

My College Bucket List
EP10- My College Bucket List
Something you should all know about me is that I'm an extremely reflective + nostalgic person. I've kept journals, diaries, and bucket lists since I was five years old. When COVID ended my senior year of high school early, I needed something positive to focus on to distract me from all the chaos and uncertainty in the world. In April of 2020, I wrote a five page college bucket list and put it away on a shelf in my room. With it being the end of my first semester of senior year college… almost four years later.. I thought this would be the perfect time to go through it, see what I was hoping to achieve, what I already achieved, and reflect on how much my priorities and goals have changed since coming to Hamilton College.
Topics Covered in This Episode:
* What I've been up to this semester
* A backstory on why I created this bucket list
* Going through all the points on it, giving stories as they come
* Insights into what mattered to me at 18 vs what matters to me now at 21
* The what/who/when/where goals I hoped to achieve
* Why I love Hamilton College
* How you, too, would benefit from making a bucket list
I hope you all enjoy listening to this lil episode! I know that listening will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.
