Scott Heitland (DC-G) Taking The Lead In Your Youth Football Program

Scott Heitland (DC-G) Taking The Lead In Your Youth Football Program

On this episode, you’ll hear a presentation about youth football from Scott Heitland—head coach at Dallas Center Grimes high school. This presentation was part of the SE Iowa Football Coaches Clinic in Moravia, IA on May 4.

Coach Heitland sits on the board for the Iowa High School Football Coaches Association and heads up the board’s youth football committee. He’s also represented the state of Iowa and presented at USA Football’s national conference. Additionally, Coach Heitland and some of his colleagues in central Iowa have taken a leading role in changing how their communities do youth football. But they’re not stopping there. They’ve taken on the responsibility of sharing their models & viewpoints with high school coaches & youth organizers across the state in an effort to encourage them to re-evaluate their youth football models within the changing landscape this sports is experiencing.

Coach Heitland’s philosophies align with the Taking Back Football mission and I greatly value his insight and willingness to be a resource on this subject. I’m certain you’ll find this presentation to be thought provoking and hope it inspires you to be a difference-maker in your community.
