The Doll's House by Katherine Mansfield 'A Pair Of Silk Stockings'

A lovely story - notice the simile 'like an owl' with reference to our Else. Is she the wiser of all the children? Notice also how the girl's imitate their parents as they grow older. I have read this story in many Shared Reading groups where we have discussed it's themes, surprisingly not everybody gets the sense of inequality that I think Mansfield wanted to portray.
