Do you find that your friends now a days depend on the compatibility of your parenting styles?  Can your kids have friends who have been brought up differently?

In episode 19, the ladies talk about parenting styles in episode 2 of Mommy Wars.

They discuss the differences in parenting styles today versus years ago. Lawn mower, helicopter, free range parenting, snow plow and light house parenting are all new sub categories of parenting styles that are commonly spoken about these days.

How well do a helicopter parent and a free range parent get along?  Can someone who allows their kids never ending freedoms befriend someone who won't let their children out of their sight?  What about the children?  Can kids of helicopter parents be friends with free range kids?
