?uestions and @nswers with MiDi X Dekay | Ep 1

This is a humorous, laid back yet genuinely informative show - well worth listening to more than once!

    I GOT LIPOSUCTION

The conversation begins with an observation that television cameras can make you look very unflattering, whereas a carefully filtered photo can hide issues like being overweight

“There’s two things in this world that don’t lie and that’s microphones and cameras” - MiDi

    - You have to be ready for that kind of scrutiny if you want to be in the public eye or it can send you mad, like Kanye West
    - MiDi does a very convincing impression of Kanye West’s outburst on TMZ (where he said “I had liposuction! I had liposuction... For you guys”)
    - The Kardashian family seem to be mainly comprised of plastic body parts
They have recently released a video game of their life
MiDi thought the game was about adding body parts together like Frankenstein
    - Dekay is of the opinion that they can do that if they want

    DONALD TRUMP’S HAIR

“There’s a huge issue online now about Donald Trump coming to London, and you know... no one really wants him to” - Dekay

Talk turns to the US presidential visit to London in the near future and the controversy surrounding it.
    - MiDi explains his theory that Donald Trump’s hair is going to rise above his head until it orbits him like a satellite
(This may be something Nick Abbot would agree with…)

    THAT WAS REFRESHING

Dekay and Midi talk beverages. Dekay is drinking Couvousier, Midi is drinking Appletiser.

    - Appletiser is made by the Coca Cola company
    - McDonalds sell vegan burgers and salads, presumably to cover all bases of customers
    - They have built up a huge brand for meat eaters, why then add healthy food...
    - Which sort of vegans would frequent a chain restaurant like McDonalds which is famously a mass seller of dead animals?

    THE ANTI VEGAN

    - You shouldn’t be enticed by the branding, as it contradicts the animal rights vegan ethos
    - Only vegans in despair would go to McDonalds for a burger in Dekay’s opinion.
    - The only shop that will survive in the future is a McDonalds... right next to the pyramids
    - Farmers markets are preferable to supermarkets but not always as easily accessible
    - It’s a different experience seeing the farmers that have grown your food
    - Dekay would like to see her own food as it grows naturally and see exactly where it comes from

    FISH AND CHIPS

    - Dekay wants to know what the essential British cuisine entails, and what MiDi likes to eat...
    - Fish and chips is a classic
    - MiDi does not like many types of seafood
    - There are certain fish and chip shops which sell frozen Iceland type products for the same price as quality fresh ones
    - There is a great fish and chip shop in Brixton which allows patrons to bring in their own drinks
    - MiDi reminisces on bad experiences of steak pies which taste more like “some evil…thing”
    - He prefers to make his own special recipe for meat and potatoes at home, however he is keeping the technique a secret!

The show ends with a light-hearted reference to cult British comedy Fawlty Towers “I know nothing!”
